Privacy Policy
Device Monitor + System Status reads your device stats locally. We do not have accounts, we do not run our own servers and we never upload your metrics. This policy explains the small amount of data that third parties process so the app can show ads, check your public IP and handle purchases.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy applies to the iOS and iPadOS app Device Monitor + System Status (the "App") and to this website. The developer of the App ("we", "us") is the data controller for the processing described here.
Contact for any privacy question or request: tostorifapps@proton.me
2. Summary
Your device stats stay on your device. We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, location or files, and we do not sell personal data.
- No account or sign-up is required.
- The App does not include any third-party analytics SDK.
- The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Personalized ads are only shown if you allow them.
- Purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
3. Data that stays on your device
To work, the App reads technical information through public iOS APIs. This information is processed only on your device and is not sent to us:
- System and hardware: device model, chip, iOS version, uptime, CPU load, memory usage, storage usage, display brightness, refresh rate and zoom, and the availability of features such as Face ID, NFC, 5G or Dynamic Island.
- Battery: level, charging state, Low Power Mode and the estimates the App calculates from them.
- Network: connection type, Wi-Fi network name when iOS provides it, local IP address, data traffic counters, throughput and speed test results.
- Sensors: accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, barometer, altimeter and pedometer readings while you use the Lab.
- History and settings: performance history, battery and speed test history, sensor logs and your preferences, stored in the App's private storage and in widgets on your device.
If you export a report or a CSV file, the file is created on your device and shared only with the destination you choose in the iOS share sheet.
Deleting the App deletes all of this data.
4. Third-party services
Some features need to connect to external services. These providers act under their own privacy policies:
| Service | Purpose | Data involved |
|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob and User Messaging Platform (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC) | Showing ads in the free version and collecting your ad consent | IP address, device and OS information, ad interactions, consent choices and, only if you allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA). Google policy |
| ipify (api.ipify.org) | Showing your public IP address in the Network screen | The request reveals your public IP address to the service, which returns it to the App. ipify.org |
| Speed test servers | Measuring download, upload and latency when you start a speed test | Your IP address and the test traffic itself. Tests only run when you tap Start. |
| Apple (App Store, StoreKit) | Downloads, subscriptions, purchases, restore and reviews | Handled by Apple under the Apple Privacy Policy. We only receive anonymous sales reports and, if you opted in on your device, Apple's aggregated App Analytics and crash reports. |
We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with data brokers.
5. Permissions
iOS asks for your permission before the App can access protected data. You can change these at any time in iOS Settings.
- Motion and Fitness: used by the pedometer and motion sensors in the Lab. Readings are shown on screen and are not uploaded.
- App Tracking Transparency: used to ask whether ads may use the advertising identifier. Refusing does not limit any feature.
- Face ID and NFC: the App only checks whether these features are available. It never reads your face data, biometric data or NFC tags.
6. Ads, tracking and consent
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the App shows a consent form from Google's User Messaging Platform on first launch. After that, iOS shows the App Tracking Transparency prompt.
- If you decline, you will only see non-personalized ads.
- You can change your ad consent at any time from the privacy options in the App Settings.
- You can turn tracking off at any time in iOS Settings, Privacy and Security, Tracking.
- Subscribing to Pro removes ads.
7. Legal bases
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on:
- Consent for personalized ads and tracking. You can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interest for showing non-personalized ads that fund the free version, and for preventing fraud and abuse.
- Performance of a contract for delivering the Pro features you purchase.
8. Retention and international transfers
Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or delete the App. Data processed by third parties is kept according to their own policies. Google and other providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability and the right to withdraw consent. California residents have the right to know and delete personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell personal data.
Because we do not hold your device data on any server, most requests are best handled directly on your device or with the providers listed above. For anything else, write to tostorifapps@proton.me and we will reply within 30 days.
You can also file a complaint with your data protection authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
10. Children
The App is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age required in your country, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will help remove it.
11. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the App changes or when the law requires it. We will change the date at the top of this page and, for important changes, we will tell you in the App.

4. Servicios de terceros
Algunas funciones necesitan conectarse a servicios externos.
| Servicio | Finalidad | Datos implicados |
|---|---|---|
Rechazarlo no limita ninguna función.
No vendemos datos personales.
